This was the first of two images I made at Flatford Mill in the summer and used as step-by-step demonstrations in Landscape in Ink and Coloured Pencil. I built up the layers of ink and coloured pencil together, using blending, embossing and lifting out, keeping the Purple Loosestrife flowers and grasses dominant in the foreground. I used fine pigment liner pens and Faber-Castell Polychromos pencils.
